WrestlingNerd Presents: TNA Impact Wrestling Review 10/11/12

What up wrestling fans, I'm the WrestlingNerd bringing you another written review. Today, we take a look at TNA Impact Wrestling 10/11/12. How does the final episode of Impact fair before going into Bound for Glory? Let's find out and start the review.

Match #1: James Storm vs Austin Aries
We open up with a match. This is a match that had the potentials to be big, but was kept short. To be fair, this is the "go home" show, meaning you're gonna get a lot of matches that are quick since they want their talents to be ready to go this Sunday. The finish comes when Aries hits the Brainbuster for the victory, but thanks to Roode running interference on Storm. There's something I've been wanting to say for a while. One of the matches I was looking forward to for months was Storm/Roode. It was a rivalry TNA spent the better part of the year building up, but I think they haven't done a good job with building up this rivalry in the past month. As stated before, I'm not big on King Mo getting in the middle of this and I'm loosing more interest with this match. Is anyone else having that problem? Geeze, when did this page get all serious? Where's the stupid comedy I do on here? Have I changed my ways? If that's the case, I no longer have a reason to live. Nooooo…..

Yeah, that's not happening. WrestlingNerd Show: Where I go off on tangents that have NOTHING to do with the source material.

Winner via pinfall: Austin Aries

We have Kurt Angle, AJ Styles, and Wes Brisco *WARNING WARNING!!!*. Why does that keep happening on here when I mention his name? Hmmm…..Anyway, we get some forced tension between Angle and Styles since Styles is the most gullible guy in the world. Come on, the dude was seriously questioning having sex with someone that he didn't remember. Kinda hard for me to take him seriously after this past year.

Hulk Hogan and Sting talk Bully and BFG. Let me tell you something, brother. Whatcha gonna do when I unleash the 2.4 inch python on your wife? That's right, brother!!! I'm gonna do my thing for the sake of publicity. Oh, I'm sorry. I think I hit my head on something and started talking nonsense. Basically, Hogan doesn't trust Bully, while Team Appletini is trying to stir the pot. Bully comes out to defend himself and all of the sudden, we have a match. Watch as the bully tries to get you on his good side, but should we trust him? Hmmm…

Match #2: AJ Styles vs Hernandez
Wow, that has to be on the worst finishes to a match ever. Hernandez wins this match with a really bad shoulder tackle. And you thought Monty Brown's Pounce was terrible? I understand this being the "go home" episode, but you can at least TRY to put on a decent finish.

Winner via pinfall: Hernandez

Zema Ion claims there isn't an X Division. Is this a shoot promo? RVD comes out and doesn't have an opponent for BFG, so now we have a match. Umm, isn't RVD out of the weight limit for this match?

Okay, I kinda walked into that one. There's your smark moment of the night. I try to keep those moments far in between. In another backstage scene, Hogan doesn't trust Bully. What's up with the ending? WAIT FOR ME!!! WHAT IS THIS!!! WHY AM I SHOUTING!!! Sorry about that, but why is Sting shouting? Meanwhile, Brooke Hogan and Tara continue to pad out this boyfriend deal. I betcha anything that it's that douchbag from Big Brother they hired a few months ago. I'm gonna kick myself if I'm right. I'M KICKING MYSELF!!!

Match #3: Sting and Bully Ray vs Christopher Daniels and Kaz
The purpose of this match was to prove that Bully was legit with this words. Look!!! He even went out of the way to help Sting and use a table in this match. Wow, what a guy. He's totally changed his ways…..Okay, so who's really buying this? I'm pretty much expecting Bully to screw over his team. He's lined up the cards perfectly. I know, bad joke. I want to get this out of the way. While Aces and Eights hasn't been perfect, I want to see what exactly will happen at BFG. In fact, you can argue that Aces and Eights have been laughably bad at times, but I still want to see what shenanigans they can come out of this.

Winner via DQ: Christopher Daniels and Kaz

Match #4: Tessmacher vs Gail Kim
I'll be honest. This match actually wasn't that bad. I'm actually gonna give the KOs credit. Tessmacher gets the clean victory in this match. Tara attacks after the match since cliches hold no bounds in pro wrestling.

Winner via pinfall: Tessmacher

Match#5: Robert Roode vs Jeff Hardy
Hmmm, I think King Mo just made the easiest $20,000 in the history of this company. Anyway, this was the best match of the night. While I didn't expect anything great from the action department tonight, this was a welcome surprise. The finish comes when Roode slips a low blow for the DQ. I know, cheap ending, but it's appropriate. After the match, Aries comes out and claims that he isn't jealous of Hardy. He claims that he hates all the special treatment Hardy receives and doesn't like how he continues to have popularity. So, let me get this straight? You have a champion that's very bitter over his opponent's placement/politics/fandom/etc, while the good guy either cuts a generic promo and/or smiles? It isn't a 100% rip-off of the CM Punk/John Cena storyline, but you can see some similarities between the two. Now that I've said it, the TNA fans are really gonna bitch me out. So, we are either witnessing Aries turning heel again or he is fully heel again. Personally, I think Aries works best as a heel. Still, I find this funny since the fans were the reason he turned face in the first place, but quickly turned on him when he went up against Hardy. Aries' attitude adds a little more intrigue to the match, but this is the first time where I find myself actually wanting to see this match. I'm convinced that Hardy can say whatever he wants and the Impact Zone will go ape s*** over it.

Winner via DQ: Jeff Hardy

Overall Impression:
For a show that was setting up their biggest PPV of the year, I found it a bit disappointing. While I gained some interest for the PPV, I don't think they did the greatest job in hyping up the event. This wasn't a bad night for TNA. Far from it. I actually enjoyed a good chunk of the show, but I just don't FEEL like BFG is this week. I hope that makes sense. Then again, this is only my stupid opinion, so take of it whatever you will. A decent evening for TNA, but not what I would call a good "go home" show that leads to their version of WrestleMania. That's gonna do it for the review and I hope you enjoyed it. As always, tell me what you thought of my review or tonight's show. I will see you guys and girls on the next WrestlingNerd show. See you next time. THE REVIEW IS OVER!!!

  1. Really, who is TNA trying to fool when BFG reveals Bully Ray's betrayal and aligns with As & 8s? I am sure the commentators are going to be "shocked" and maybe some of the casual fans will be too since they are not as omniscient as the IWC. But maybe TNA is aware of this and will do another swerve just to tell the IWC "GOTCHA!"
